“For the kingdom of God does not consist of food and drink, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.” Romans 14:17 NET.
Joy is the product of the ministry of the Lord Holy Spirit or simply put – the fruit of the Lord Holy Spirit produced in our recreated human spirit. “But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), …………..,” Galatians 5:22 AMPC. As you can see in the preceding verse above,the presence of the Lord Holy Ghost produces joy in our spirit.
Our opening scripture lets us know what our Kingdom consists of; righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. Joy in the Holy Spirit is not stirred by physical instruments, engendered from outside of a man or provoked by something that happened to us but the beauty and glory of the Holy Ghost within produces this joy.
What can make a man count it joy when that man is passing through diverse tests? “Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations.” James 1:2 AMPC. Because the expression of joy is an effective weapon in our Kingdom. It is a strategy of the Spirit to strengthen His children “……….., for the joy of the Lord is your strength and stronghold.”

The Lord Holy Ghost has also made us in a way that the fabric of our spiritual substance and being enjoy health by and through the expression of joy. “A happy heart is good medicine and a cheerful mind works healing, but a broken spirit dries up the bones. ” Proverbs 17:22 AMPC. This is why joy in the Holy Ghost is a fundamental part of the Kingdom life.
How does one walk in the joy of the Holy Ghost.? In Jeremiah 15:16 AMPC, the bible says “Your words were found, and I ate them; and Your words were to me a joy and the rejoicing of my heart, for I am called by Your name, O Lord God of hosts.” So, the more you eat the word, you will be filled with the joy of the Holy Ghost. Hallelujah.
CONFESSION
I am the seed of Abraham, an heir of God and a joint heir with Christ. The word of God is my life and the source of my joy. No matter what I go through, I come out strong and victorious by the power of the Lord Holy Ghost, Glory.
