“But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.” John 14:26 AMPC.
There are seven synonyms of the Greek word parakletos when translated to English, different versions render one of the synonyms, however, the amplified classic version outlines all of them and one of them is Strengthener. He is our Strengthener.
As you go about your daily work and the various assignments entrusted to you, life can sometimes become overwhelming. Yet, always remember that the Holy Spirit is with you and lives in you, ever ready to strengthen you. He strengthens you with might in your inner man, in other words you receive His strength in your inner man “May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself indwelling your innermost being and personality].” Ephesians 3:16 AMPC.
You can pray this same prayer for yourself whenever you begin to feel weak within, or pray it for someone else when they express feelings of weariness or discouragement. If you find yourself easily giving up on an assignment or task, or you start a venture but struggle to see it through to completion, it may be a sign of inner weakness that can be overcome by the power of the Lord Holy Ghost and He is ready to minister strength to you now.
The scripture says if you faint in the day of adversity your strength is small “If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small.” Proverbs 24:10 AMPC. But as a Christian, that shouldn’t be your story because your Strengthener lives inside of you. For you to be experiencing any kind of weakness simply reveals that you are not taking the ministry of the Lord Holy Ghost seriously in your life.
CONFESSION
I am strengthened with might in my inner man by the Lord Holy Spirit, I walk in liberty and victory that I was born into. Weaknesses, infirmities, sicknesses and diseases have no place in my life and family. In the day of adversity, I have enough strength to handle, by the power of the Lord Holy Ghost, hallelujah.
