“It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD,
And to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:”
Psalm 92:1 KJV.
“It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, And to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:” Psalm 92:1 KJV.
The highest form of prayers is praise. There’s nothing you are going to really ask from the Lord that He didn’t know you wanted before you asked. That’s why asking for anything for yourself and intercession is not new to Him. The only thing God doesn’t have and cannot give to Himself is honor, thanksgiving and praise.
It’s God’s perfect will to walk and live a life of thanksgiving and praise. Look at the theme verse, it says it is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord. Do you know that if you live everyday thanking and praising Him, you would have fulfilled your purpose for living. We were saved to do exactly that, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:” 1 Peter 2:9 KJV.
Everyday and in every situation, the Spirit of the Lord is moving to burst into praise and thanksgiving because it is perfect for you in Christ Jesus “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18 KJV. Understand that praise is not necessarily a song but beautiful words that exalt and magnify His glorious name. Appreciating the Father in the name of Jesus Christ is thanksgiving.
The Lord requires it continually, not sometimes when you feel nice. Your feelings should not determine how you praise and thank the Lord but your praise and thanksgiving should determine how you feel. “So we no longer offer up a steady stream of blood sacrifices, but through Jesus, we will offer up to God a steady stream of praise sacrifices—these are “the lambs” we offer from our lips that celebrate his name!” Hebrews 13:15 TPT.
