“To the end that, the fellowship of thy faith, may become, energetic, by a personal knowledge of every good thing that is in us towards Christ;” Philemon 1:6 EMP
Faith is not something we strive to obtain whenever we need to accomplish a spiritual feat, it is the inherent force and spiritual energy in our spirit. It can be weak or strong, little or great. Faith can be increased or diminished. Romans 10:17 KJV lets us know that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word.
It suffices to say that every born again believer possesses faith, the measure of faith has been deposited within each of us. “…but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith’’ Romans 12:3 KJV. Now, each one of us is responsible for what we do with the seed of faith that was dealt to us. Increasing it and making it effective in operation is not God’s responsibility but ours.
Look at our theme verse, our faith becomes energetic or effective by acknowledging or by personal precise and accurate knowledge of every good thing that is in us in Christ Jesus. The scripture doesn’t say acknowledging every bad or evil thing but every good thing, it also lets us know that these good things are not around us but inside us. Finally, they are not things in your country, family, home or clan but they are things in Christ.
Instead of spending time worrying about problems and challenges, meditate on every good thing that is in you in Christ. For example, there’s glory in you. “To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you the hope of glory” Colossians 1:27 KJV. You are excellent because the Spirit of excellence is in you “Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm” Daniel 6:3 KJV.
PRAYER
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the knowledge of your word that brings illumination to my spirit. I pray that your Spirit guides me to meditate on your word which energises my faith for greater works of the ministry. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
