“The true children of God are those who let God’s Spirit lead them.” Romans 8:14 ERV
True sonship is witnessed in being guided and led by the person who you claim to be your father. No matter how many children you have, you cannot try to lead and guide all the children in the city. In fact, they will not follow you because they are not your sons. Permitting the leadership of the Lord Holy Spirit as a new creation is not a struggle because He(the Lord Holy Spirit) is not an outsider but He lives in us.
Truly, the scripture in 1 Corinthians 6:17 TPT, says “But the one who joins himself to the Lord is mingled into one spirit with him.” Do not picture a shepherd leading sheep in the field, in our case the sheep and shepherd are one, the Father and the son are one, so, you must know where He wants you to go so that you don’t carry Him to a place He didn’t tell you to go because wherever you go, He goes. You and Him are inseparable.
That’s why Romans 8:14 TPT says “The mature children of God are those who are moved by the impulses of the Holy Spirit.” Because babes in Christ can be tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine “that we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;”Ephesians 4:14 KJV. Maturity brings stability in a Christian’s life and so they can follow the leading of the Lord through their Pastor.
So, learn the word of God and live by and in it. The word of God is the breath and voice of the Spirit of God. “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.”Psalm 32:8 KJV. The psalmists were speaking prophetically when he said the Lord will guide with His eyes. “For behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua; upon one stone shall be seven eyes: behold, …………,.” Zechariah 3:9 KJV. Christ is the stone that Zechariah is referring to, the eyes are on the stone and Christ is the word.
CONFESSION
I am taught, led and guided by the Lord Holy Ghost everyday. My steps are ordered by the Spirit of truth, therefore, I walk in the truth all the days of my life. My path shines more and more unto the perfect day, glory to God.
