“But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.” John 14:26 AMPC.
In most developed countries electricity doesn’t go off like in many of Africa’s. Load shedding is common in African countries and for uninterrupted power supply you’ll need a standby generator or an alternative power source. Think of the Lord Holy Spirit as your standby power source, stepping in to ensure your life’s operations remain uninterrupted when the power goes out.
Another picture I would like you to consider is that of an army preparing for battle. When the army hears of any potential threats, the commander puts them on standby, this means they are ready for action at any time. Their mind is directed towards the potential threats. Similarly, the Lord Holy Spirit was called to go along with us and He is ever ready for any potential threats that come to us.
“God, you’re such a safe and powerful place to find refuge! You’re a proven help in time of trouble— more than enough and always available whenever I need you.” Psalms 46:1 TPT. The Spirit of the Lord is ever present to help in the time of need, in other words, He is our standby. Whenever our ability, wisdom and strength has reached its peak and cannot handle the prevailing pressure, the standby sets in and takes over.
The Lord Holy Spirit is a person and if you want to get the most from Him, build a healthy relationship with Him. This doesn’t mean His help is conditional, it’s just that your relationship with Him will open your eyes and hearts to know and understand a lot more that He can help you to achieve in your life. As you read through the scriptures and pray daily, talk with Him, He desires your attention more than anything else.

Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. I am a success, the Spirit of truth and triumph lives in me, He is my father who dwells in me and He does the supernatural in and through me. I am more than a conqueror, Glory.
