OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

Friday, October 24th
Apostle Geoffrey Okeny

Romans 5:8 (NIV) But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

A relationship is the way two or more people are connected and how they behave toward each other. The same is true of our connection with God. A relationship can either be good or bad, depending on how well we understand the person you are relating with. To build a strong, healthy relationship with God, you must first understand His nature and character.

God is not distant or indifferent; He is a loving, holy, gracious, and righteous Person. He knows us intimately, before we were even formed in our mother’s womb (Jeremiah 1:5). Unlike human relationships, where we often misunderstand one another, God perfectly understands us.

The problem many face today is misunderstanding God’s nature. Just like Eve in the Garden of Eden, people fall for Satan’s deception because they do not know God’s true character. The enemy whispers lies: “God doesn’t really love you,” “You’re not good enough,” “God is withholding something from you.” But the truth is, God is good, loving, and generous. He proved His love when Christ died for us, even before we repented.

True relationship with God flows from knowing His nature. A child of a king walks boldly, not in fear. Likewise, when you know that your Father is the King of Kings and that He loves you, you walk in confidence, not condemnation. You no longer see Him as a harsh judge but as a loving Father.

Therefore, make a decision today to intentionally build your relationship with God. He loves you, and he desires to have a close relationship with you. Do not believe the lies the devil whispers in your heart, anything contrary to the nature and character of God. Invest your time in studying the Word of God, and as you do, you will come to know His character, and your relationship with Him will grow tremendously. Always remember that God’s greatest desire is not our rituals but a relationship with Him. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for bringing me into an actual, real, tangible and living relationship with you. I am born of you, filled with your Spirit, and I walk daily in the reality of my oneness with you, conscious of my divine nature, and manifesting your love, wisdom and power to my world. Thank you for the privilege of knowing and living in this truth, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
