You are washed and sanctified

You are washed and sanctified

Saturday, October 18th
Apostle Geoffrey Okeny

1 Corinthians 6:11 (KJV) “And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.”

The Word of God makes it clear that you are washed and you are sanctified, Not “going to be washed,” not “trying to be washed.” You are already washed! This truth should completely change the way you see yourself. When you came to Christ, His blood cleansed you. Therefore, you are not a sinner struggling to be clean; you are a washed, sanctified child of God.

Holiness isn’t something now you should work for; it’s something you received when you got born again. If you truly believe that you are washed and sanctified, you will not live like someone who is trying to work out Holiness. You will not go back to sin because you recognize who you have become.

You were once a liar, a drunkard, a fornicator, or an idolater, but that was before you received Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. The blood of Jesus has cleansed you eternally. The blood of Jesus doesn’t lose its power because it speaks better things. It’s not like earthly things that fade with time. The same blood that cleansed sinners two thousand years ago is cleansing lives today. It still breaks the power of addiction, immorality, and guilt.

Therefore, have the consciousness that you are washed and sanctified, set apart for God’s purpose. You are not common; you are a divine being. To live in sin is to be carnal, and the Bible says in Romans 8:6 (KJV), “For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” Refuse to identify with your past. When God looks at you, He sees you righteous and holy. Glory to God!

PRAYER

“Dear Father, I believe Your Word that I am washed, sanctified, and justified in Jesus’ name. I walk in the consciousness of my new identity, living a life that reflects Your righteousness and holiness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
