Diligence: An Attribute of Kingdom service

Diligence: An Attribute of Kingdom service
Thursday, September 11th

Proverbs 12:24 (NKJV) The hand of the diligent will rule, but the lazy man will be put to forced labor.

Diligence, as a positive attribute of serving God, is defined by consistency, persistence, and earnest effort. It involves a wholehearted commitment to fulfilling responsibilities. A person who lacks consistency cannot be considered diligent. This principle is exemplified by Jacob’s projection of his son Reuben’s future, as described in Genesis 49:4 (NKJV): “Unstable as water, you shall not excel.”

The Greek word for diligent is Spoudaioteteros , which signifies being prompt and quick to respond with a sense of urgency. A diligent person is not late to church, work, or school. They work with both speed and accuracy, ensuring they meet their targets. This efficiency and commitment are key to their success in any area they are positioned in by God.

Choosing to be diligent can lead to positions of leadership in business and other fields. The excellent results produced by a diligent person speak for themselves. This aligns with our theme scripture , which says, “The hand of the diligent will rule, but the lazy man will be put to forced labor.”
Ultimately, choosing diligence today leads to a future of influence and success. A person who is diligent in their work will stand before important people. As Proverbs 22:29 (KJV) says, “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.” Therefore, diligence elevates one’s status and opportunities. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION
I embrace diligence as a key to my success. I am consistent, persistent, and committed to excellence. My diligence opens doors of opportunity, and I stand out in my endeavors, blessed with favor and influence, in Jesus' name. Amen."
