Kingdom Service is By Grace

Kingdom Service is By Grace

Wednesday, September 3rd

Hebrews 12:28 Wherefore we, receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.

The number one qualification for one to serve after receiving Christ as his personal Lord and Saviour is the grace of the Lord. If it is grace, then it is not by human enablement. Grace does not function in one’s life because of age, appearance, background, or level of education. We read about the disciples of Jesus, who were not learned, yet men could recognize that they had been with Jesus.

Acts 4:13 (KJV) Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

A man who is not in service may be taking the Grace of the Lord in vain. Apostle Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15:10 (KJV) But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

Without grace and the ministry of the Holy Spirit, you cannot effectively serve God. This is because the output of a man who is not functioning by Grace is not Kingdom service. Therefore, take advantage of the grace of God while executing kingdom service. The grace you have received is not for wasting, but rather for use in that department or unit. Recognize it and be aware of it to the glory of His name. Amen.

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for the grace that enables me to serve You. I recognize that my ability to serve comes not from my own strength or qualifications, but from Your gracious gift. I take advantage of Your grace in my life, using it to serve You effectively to the glory of your name, Amen.

DEEPER REFLECTION

1 Peter 4:11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever.

1 Corinthians 1:4 I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ.

2 Timothy 2:1 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
