…Genesis 1:1-3 In the beginning God created the Heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
The opening scripture describes that the world was without form, and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the spirit of the Lord moved upon the face of the deep.
For a clearer understanding, let us look at the Hebrew meanings of the words “without form,” “void,” “darkness,” and “moved.” The Hebrew word for “without form” is “Tohu,” which means to lie waste, a desolation, worthless thing, confusion, wilderness, and a desert. A desert is a place that is dry and cannot produce anything.
The Hebrew word for the word “void” in our opening verse is “Bohu,” which means vacuity, undisquishable ruin, and emptiness. The Hebrew word for “darkness” is “Koshek,” which means obscurity, misery, destruction, death, ignorance, sorrow, wickedness; and finally, the Hebrew word for “move” is “Rachaph,” which means relaxed.
We can actually phrase the scripture as “And the earth was in a state of confusion, empty, and sorrow was upon the face of the deep.And the spirit of the Lord relaxed upon the face of the deep.” This scripture can be describing the state of a person’s business, family, or ministry, but there is hope for you as you continue reading this devotion. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. This is the same principle that you have to apply to change your current situation.
The spirit of God was relaxing upon the face of the waters until God spoke the word that light was created. Therefore, unless you speak God’s Word upon your business, finances, and ministry, nothing will change concerning your life. This is because the Holy Spirit, without the spoken word, can do nothing. Hallelujah!

Dear Father, thank you for your specific and active word to me today that addresses my situation. As I speak forth and declare your words of power concerning my health, finances, business, and ministry, circumstances align with your perfect will and destiny for me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
