“Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him” Hebrews 10:38 KJV.
Faith is one of the most misunderstood subjects in the whole of God’s Word. There are those who mock the teachings of faith and there are also those who take it to the extreme without properly understanding it. The subject of faith is fundamental to a Christian, if you don’t understand the teachings of faith then you may end up living in life like a victim.
“And those whose faith has made them good in God’s sight must live by faith, trusting him in everything. Otherwise, if they shrink back, God will have no pleasure in them.” Hebrews 10:38 TLB. Just like blood is to the body of human life, so is faith to a Christian life. Without faith, a Christian is not living. The human body without blood cannot live; So, the spirit man without faith is dead. Faith is not just something we squeeze from our spirit in the time of challenges to win, it is a daily flow of the revelation of Christ, of who we are and our life’s alignment to it.
Look at our theme verse, it says the righteous one shall live by faith. The new creation was created in righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4:24 NKJV) to live and walk by faith. As a new creation, you must educate and train yourself to respond to circumstances and situations in your world in accordance to the force of faith that is in your spirit. Christ gave us His faith to live like Him. When you feed your spirit well and challenges come, the force of faith from the word will subdue those challenges.
The word of God to our spirit is exactly like food to a natural man. When one eats food, the food is converted into force or energy that enables one to walk, carry heavy objects, help the body to fight pathogens etc. Faith is the same, the more of God’s word you imbibe, the more it is converted into a spiritual force called faith that you live by every day. “We live by what we believe, not by what we can see” 2 Corinthians 5:7 NCV.
As a new creation, your life is governed by what you believe, you make decisions and take actions based on what you believe, that’s what it means by; “the just shall live by faith”. It is a daily lifestyle not an occasional experience when very serious challenges arise, so train yourself to live this way.
CONFESSION
In the name of Jesus Christ, I declare that I walk by faith and not by sight. In the path that I walk there is no death. My path is illuminated by the word of God, and I am guided by the wisdom of the word that is in my spirit. My path shines brighter and brighter unto the perfect day. I am marvelously helped of God, glory to God.
