“Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action),” 2 Timothy 3:16 AMPC
When a child is born, they are not left to fend for themselves. Instead, they live with adults who have the responsibility of raising them into maturity. This child is 100% human, with the same nature as their parents but immature to care for themselves.
When you get born again, you are 100% divine, you have the same life and nature of God-righteousness but just like that baby, you are immature to fend for yourself, you need spiritual parenting. “Like newborn babies you should crave (thirst for, earnestly desire) the pure (unadulterated) spiritual milk, that by it you may be nurtured and grow unto [completed] salvation,” 1 Peter 2:2 AMPC. You have to be nurtured by the word of God to grow, before you start training.
Training is for more mature children; it’s impossible to train a baby. As a Christian, you must delight in growing so that you can put the word of righteousness to use. Hebrews 5:14 NIV says, “But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.” Training is necessary for living this life of immortality, in the same way you are trained to live the human life.
The word of God was given to us for teaching, correction, rebuke, and training in righteousness. To live righteously and teach others this righteousness, you need to be trained in it. Throughout the month, you’ve been undergoing this training. Continue reading the devotional, attending Patria Movement Gatherings and Church services, and soon you’ll be fully equipped for every good work. So that the man of God may be complete and proficient, well fitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:17 AMPC.
CONFESSION
I am born of God, and I share His life and nature. I live righteously, serve faithfully, and help train others in the truth. I am growing daily, grounded in the Word, prepared for life, godliness, and every good work. Amen.
