“Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, And Your law is truth.” Psalms 119:142 NKJV
Righteousness is one of the fundamental truths of the gospel that must be understood for one’s faith to flourish. For a long time, teachings in Church have done damage to Christian because a lot of ministers do not understand what righteousness is.
What is righteousness then? Righteousness is firstly better understood as the nature of the Almighty God. It is the nature of God that makes Him do right. The rightness of God; that which makes Him think, speak and do right.
Our opening scripture shows us that this kind of righteousness is an everlasting one, it is a fabric of eternal life. God’s life is expressed and manifested through and in righteousness.
When we became born again, eternal life came with this nature called righteousness. A Christian is one who has the same nature as God, that means they have the same righteousness as Jesus Christ – the everlasting righteousness. To easily understand; when a cow gives birth to a calf, do they have different natures? Absolutely no, this is the same with you and God. Powerful.
CONFESSION
Thank you, Lord, because I now have the same righteousness as you have. The same nature that’s destructive to sickness and diseases, poverty, and lack is in me now. Making me impenetrable and impregnable by any external force. Glory to Jesus, amen.
