Ephesians 4:32 (KJV) And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
Forgiveness is not a weakness; it is the highest expression of strength, grace, and divine love. It is the ability to release someone who has deeply hurt you and let go of every offense.
Forgiveness is a spiritual state of being gracious, giving favor to someone who does not deserve it, just as God did for us.
Forgiveness is the manifestation of the God-kind of love — Agape.
God’s love has no condition. He loves you not because you are lovable, but because He is love. In the same way, true forgiveness is not based on whether someone deserves it; it flows from a heart transformed by God’s love.
Without the love of God at work in your heart, genuine forgiveness is impossible. That’s why it is hard for an unregenerated person to forgive — because he or she does not have the nature of Love in his or her spirit. It is the work of grace in the heart of a believer.
Unforgiveness poisons the heart and spreads sickness through the body — both spiritually and physically. Many illnesses like stress, hypertension, and ulcers are rooted in bitterness. When you forgive, you bring healing and health to the church, the body of Christ — and peace to your own life.
Therefore choose to forgive those that have wronged you because God forgave all your sins — not some, not a few, but all .Forgiveness is your act of thanksgiving to God for His mercy. Hallelujah!
CONFESSION
The love of God is shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Spirit; that love mantles my heart and mind, causing me to see others as God sees them. There’s no one and there’s no wrong I can’t forgive. I have the capacity to absolve others of their faults, and demonstrate the God-nature in me; the nature of love, through my words and actions, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
