The Depth of God’s Love

The Depth of God’s Love

Romans 5:8 (TPT) But Christ proved God’s passionate love for us by dying in our place while we were still lost and ungodly!

The love of God is beyond measure, comprehension, and human reasoning. It is infinite; it cannot be calculated, exhausted, or limited. God’s love is not just what He does; it is who He is. The Scripture tells us in 1 John 4:8, “God is love.” That means His nature, His character, His very being is love.

Romans 5:8 (KJV) paints a clear picture of how far God’s love reaches: “While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Human love is often conditional, it responds to goodness or kindness. But God’s love is unconditional; He loved us even when we were of “no use” to Him. That’s divine love; love that gives without demand, forgives without limit, and restores without condition.

God’s love reached even the wicked kings in the Bible; Nebuchadnezzar, Ahab, and Manasseh. Though they were rebellious and evil, when they humbled themselves, God forgave them. His love went deeper than their sin. There is no sin deeper than His love, no failure beyond His mercy.

The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:19 (TPT), “God was reconciling the world to Himself, not even keeping records of their transgressions.” What a beautiful truth to know that God does not just forgive; He forgets our trespasses as well. He refuses to keep records of your past. When He forgives you, your sins are wiped out completely, they cease to exist in His memory.

Don’t define God’s love by how people have treated you. Define it by the Word. God’s love is purer, deeper, and higher than human affection. You are loved unconditionally. You are forgiven eternally. You are accepted completely. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Righteous and loving Father, thank you for loving me with an everlasting love. Your arms of love are ever outstretched to embrace me, and your love for me is unconditional and eternal. I walk every day in, and with, the consciousness of your unfailing love, even as I’ve become a vent of your liquid love to my world, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

DEEPER REFLECTION

1 John 4:8(KJV)’He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.”

John 3:16(KJV) ‘For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.’

Romans 8:38-39(JKV) For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
