Joshua 1:8 (KJV) “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”
Success is often viewed as a product of effort, talent, or luck. Yet, the Bible reveals that the true and lasting secret to success lies in the Word of God. Joshua 1:8 outlines a simple but powerful principle: through meditation on God’s Word, you make your way prosperous, and you shall have good success. Your success is not the responsibility of either God or your pastor to achieve; it is through your meditation on God’s Word.
Meditation is not casual reading; it is thoughtful engagement with God’s Word, reflecting on its meaning and application to your life. True transformation happens when you allow the Word to penetrate your mind and heart, day and night. Success by God’s Word is not just about wealth or recognition; it’s about thriving in every area of life—spiritual, social, marital, and financial.
To see these results in your life, you must act on God’s Word. Our opening scripture instructs that our meditation has to be day and night. James 1:22 reminds us to be doers, not hearers only. Just as medicine works in your body when taken in proper doses at the right time, the Word works in your spirit when meditated upon consistently. Action brings the Word to life. Without it, knowledge remains inert, and potential remains untapped.
God’s promise is that if you meditate on His Word and act on it, you will experience good success. This is success that is enduring, visible, and spiritually anchored. It is not dependent on circumstances or human approval, but on the principles of God’s kingdom. Hallelujah.
