Galatians 5:6 For in Jesus Christ, neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love
Faith and love are intricately connected in the Christian life. Our faith is not just a mental assent or emotional feeling, but a living, and a complete trust in God that manifests itself in love. When you truly understand the love of God, your faith will work effectively. You will see people through God's eyes and act with kindness, compassion, and selflessness.
As scripture says, "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud" (1 Corinthians 13:4 NIV). This means that love isn't limited to those who are kind to us; it extends to everyone. When people see your love in action, it becomes a testimony that attracts others to Christ.
As you walk in love, your words become gracious, and your actions become a reflection of God's heart. "2 Corinthians 5:14(NIV) For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died.
Let the love of God compel you to serve, treat and bless others. Faith working through love is a practical reality every Christian should experience daily. When you encounter challenges in your life, family, business and ministry, demonstrate your faith by the working of God's love.
The love of God needs to ooze out of you so much that when you walk into a room, people will know you are living in love! If you are going to make your faith strong, you must make its foundations strong. And the foundation of faith is love. Hallelujah!
PRAYER
Dear Lord, thank you for shedding your love abroad in my heart. I declare that I live out my faith by love, and through it, my words and actions reflect your heart, drawing the hearts of many unto you, in Jesus' name, Amen.
DEEPER REFLECTION
1 Corinthians 13:1-3(NIV) If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
Ephesians 2:8-10(NIV) For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
1 Corinthians 13:13(Amp)And so faith, hope, love abide [faith--conviction and belief respecting man's relation to God and divine things; hope--joyful and confident expectation of eternal salvation; love--true affection for God and man, growing out of God's love for and in us], these three; but the greatest of these is love.
