The Kingdom Culture of Honor

If the root of honor is not Agape, it will wear out. The people God tells us to honor might not be nice people. Always remember you are a love child, with the love nature. The root of honor is LOVE. The root of dishonor is SELF-CENTREDNESS.

Honor begins from the heart and is outwardly expressed. The honor of God is the most supreme. If you teach your children to honor God, then they can honor their parents, their teachers, elders, and the government.

When you don’t train your children right, you are training them in dishonor. Dishonor starts at home.

1 Samuel 2:29-30 says, “Wherefore kick ye at my sacrifice and at mine offering, which I have commanded in my habitation; and honourest thy sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the chiefest of all the offerings of Israel my people? Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honor me I will honor, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.”

Do not honor anyone above God. Respect the structural hierarchy of honor according to God. Do not honor your parents above God. For example, you are building your parents a house with all due diligence but not participating or lightly participating in building the Lord a house.

Malachi 1:6-7 says, “A son honoreth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honor? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the LORD of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name.” “Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of the LORD is contemptible.”

Honoring in relation to your giving or offering is crucial. Your Offering is a return of honor. Does your Offering esteem who God is? Your tithe or your first fruit is honor seed.

Malachi 3:7-8 says, “Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return?”

Malachi 3:8-10 says, “Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”

Proverbs 3:9-10 says, “Honor the LORD with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.”

What is first fruit? It is the first and the best. Hallelujah! Your first salary is your first fruit. Your first salary of the year is first fruit.

Honor is a labor of love. Your Offering, your tithe, your first fruit is a labor of love.

Hebrews 6:10 says, “For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

Your giving doesn’t make the church or your pastor rich. Your giving makes you rich. The blessing of your giving is beyond material blessings.

Dishonoring your own vow is a grave mistake. Study lot and Abraham. Lot didn’t understand the revelation of honor.
