Whatever God starts, He puts structures and systems for its sustainability. God sees how you are loyal to those structures through the Authorities he put there. The foundation of those structures is the love of God!

The foundation of honor and submission is love. Husband, love your wife as you’ve learned love from Christ’s perspective. Wife, submit to your own husband as you’ve learned submission of the church unto Christ.

1 Timothy 1:19 (AMP) – “Clinging to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and thus have suffered shipwreck.” If a man’s conscience is defiled, faith cannot work. You must have a pure conscience!

Apostle stands in the Name of the Lord. To disobey him is disobeying God.

Acts 24:16 (AMP) – “So I always strive to have a clear conscience before God and man.” You must have a good/pure conscience towards God and towards men. Regardless of what any man does to you, you must stand with a pure conscience of the love of Christ!

The foundation of all honor is the love of God. And the foundation of all obedience is honor.

Ephesians 6:1 (AMP) – “Children, obey your parents in the Lord [as His representatives], for this is just and right.” In this context of scripture, they are referring to biological parents in verse 1. Your biological parents are representatives of God. They are in the place of God in your life.

Ephesians 6:2 (AMP) – “Honor (esteem and value as precious) your father and your mother—this is the first commandment with a promise—” Honor means to Esteem, Value as precious. Which kind of gift do you take to your parents? Is it comparable to the gift you would take to your president?

Ephesians 6:3 (TPT) – “You will prosper and live a long, full life if you honor your parents.” Our motivation for honor is not verse 3. However, it is the outcome of our honor. Our motivation for honor is the love of God.

If you do not have your biological parent, honor the one who took care of you. How do you administer honor to your parents?

  • Listen to what they tell you.
  • Obey your parents.
  • Respectfully talking (answering) your parents. Even when you don’t agree with what they tell you, you can tell them in the most respectful way.
  • Through giving. Give good quality gifts to your parents, the same way you buy for yourself good quality (precious) gifts… in your current capacity that God has blessed you. Let honor be consistent. Do it every month!

If you are married; honor both your mother and your father from both sides. From your family and your husband’s side. Balance the honor by honoring both your father and mother.
