Ephesians 5:30 – “For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.”
We are not independent of one another. We need one another to be healthy, we need one another to function, we need one another to be protected. If the mouth says I will not eat, the legs will not have strength.
John 15:1-5 – “I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.”
When you look at a tree, every part of the tree is connected and every part is useful. Christ needs us and we need Christ. Without one another, we cannot be satisfied, we cannot be protected.
To build healthy and meaningful relationships; We need to do the following.
Renew the mind.
Romans 12:2 (MSG) – “Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. “
Remove the garbage, the way you think about people must change. Your culture can make relationships with others impossible. You have to remove that mindset.
Become intentional/Have a purpose.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 – “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:”
You can build a relationship that can be meaningful but not healthy. The association you have can keep you stuck.
Ask questions.
Matthew 7:7-8 – “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened:”
Questions are invitations to understand. When you ask me a question, I know who you are.
Questions give you access to receive what you don’t know.
Questions open the heart of the ones you are asking. It positions you to be a man of understanding. It also enhances fellowship through interactions. It also enhances the platform for growth.
Take Action.
James 1:22 – “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”
Inaction leads to destruction, it leads to stagnation. When you take action, you are building a healthy and meaningful relationship.
Share Testimonies.
Testimonies are in two forms: the first one is to share, and the other one is you take a seed to honor the person you are learning from. You cannot operate on your own, you need each other. Relationships qualify you for things. Action is a language, and inaction is also a language.
Ephesians 4:16 (TPT) – “He is the one who holds the whole body together and makes it grow as he wants it to, and he is the one who makes the body strong and holds it together.”
You cannot be to yourself and succeed; you need others. The Word of God is our culture; to learn the Word is to learn our culture. We all have parts to play.
In this 2025, let your ‘lugambo’ be what God has done. Testify of what God has done.
