Against All Odds: A Story of Faith and Recovery

Whether you`re building a landing page, a photo gallery, or a complex layout, there`s likely a block pattern ready to use.

It was on 5th September last year, 2024 when l was attacked in my room. The thief stole money and a laptop from me and then went ahead to hit my head with something l have never known till today. He then dragged me out of the room and somehow the holy spirit gave me the strength to call for help.

When my neighbor who happens to be Uncle Mwonge heard me screaming, he came to my rescue. I was half conscious. They then decided to move me to a nearby pharmacy for first aid but the medic wasn’t in position to give the necessary help so they decided to move me to Gayaza for a better medical attention. How l got there, l don’t know but on waking up, l had cannulas on both hands with my hair trimmed off😥 and my head stitched.

Considering the fact that it was a Sunday, l received a number of family members and church members including Ap. Geoffrey and Pr. Sarah Okeny visiting me at the hospital.Meanwhile, the scan had shown that l had gotten a crack on my skull.
At that point l could hardly hear from my left ear so l was straining to hear what people were saying. I was in the hospital for two days and thereafter, l was privileged to be hosted at apostle’s home. The entire period that l was yet to be fine l was at apostle’s home, where l was nursed, fed, encouraged, strengthened, showered and above all prayed for.

Mummy was working then but she made sure to first come to my room before going for work. She encouraged me to eat food and also take the medicine. Apostle asked me several times how l was and each time prayed for me at the end of the session.

According to the medics, the situation was a serious one and that l needed to take my medication as prescribed but brothers and sisters l didn’t take the medicine as prescribed. Each time mummy asked me whether l had taken the medicine l said yes but l had only take it once and hated the way it made my urine smell. So l decided to keep it. I remember telling God that, “God this house is not an ordinary house and my being here is for my advantage, for the fact that lam in this house, l don’t need medicine to be perfected and this healing process should be quickened.” God was indeed faithful, for without the medicine l was healed and in just two weeks.

I remember going back to the hospital for a review and the doctors suggested that l should meet the physiotherapist (hopefully that’s the medical term) but l needed to pay consultation fee. I didn’t have money so l called my brother and he sent it. On receiving the message, l told myself but if these people can’t restore my hearing now why would l go there. I decided not to meet the gentlemen.

I then told the doctors that l didn’t want to meet him and that they should just clean the wound so l can go. They did exactly that.

After the first week at apostle’s, l requested them if l could resume work and they said it was so early for me and that l needed more rest. So l took another weekat apostle’s. After the two weeks, l was then permitted to resume work, when l went to work? Hmmmmm! My head could hardly contain the noise at work and oooh don’t forget, lam a teacher. The noise from the learners at break and lunch time seemed as though l was put in a grinding machine. I actually shed a tear the first day at school because of the noise. And then the holy spirit reminded me “how much more if you hadn’t listened to mummy and insisted on reporting to School last week?”

I then decided to retort to using the healing magazine as my pillow. Brethens l learnt to speak. Infact l spoke more during that period, l spent my time listening to sermons while in my room at apostle’s. For weeks l slept on the healing magazine everyday and spoke to my head and the ear everytime and l saw progress everytime until l just realised l was perfected.Glory to God.

Meanwhile, the hair on my head had started growing except for the injured part. But because l loved my hair, l didn’t like the fact that some part of my head didn’t have hair so l continued to speak to my head until the October, 2024 live healing services with the highly esteemed man of God pastor Chris. The man of God declared restoration of people’s body parts that were damaged due to accidents.

I laughed and l knew it was me he was talking about and surely as l type this message, even that injured part has hair grown, my ear is perfectly well and l am not affected my the noise at school. Ooooh wow isn’t God amazing? Glory to God.

Allow me take this opportunity to thank my dear man of God, the most highly esteemed Apostle Geoffrey Okeny for the mentorship, teaching, and inspiration.
I also want to thank my resident pastor, Pastor Sarah Okeny for the words of wisdom always and the opportunity to testify. Thank you the entire pastoral team of Zoe Kingdom Ministries for being interested in my growth and progress.
