Clarity
You must have clarity on what you are sharing. You cannot share the gospel when you have not understood the message (Matthew 28:19). You cannot teach until you are taught. Soul winners must be taught, and every teacher has a teacher. The destination of an unsaved person is not hell, but the lake of fire (Revelation 20:15). It’s not just about being willing and passionate about sharing the gospel; you must understand it. As Luke 1:4 says, “So that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught.” You cannot communicate what you have not been taught. Not everything written in the gospel is the gospel; that’s why you need clarity. Telling someone they will die is not the gospel. We must understand the clarity of the gospel.
Conviction
There has to be an absolute conviction about salvation. You must have conviction in your heart that Jesus is the only way (John 14:6). You must be fully persuaded of His message, mission, and person. Jesus preached the message of divine life and immortality, saying, “Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life” (John 6:54). Apostle Paul had an absolute conviction about the gospel, stating, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16). To some people, being born again is a burden, but it shouldn’t be; it’s a privilege (1 Corinthians 9:16). Paul doesn’t see evangelism as an option, but as a necessity.
Possession
A soul winner is a possessor of something – eternal life. They are life-givers. Until we are aware of what we carry, we cannot give it out (1 Corinthians 9:17). Jesus says, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me” (John 4:34). When you go out for soul winning, it’s more than the inconveniences; it’s an investment in eternity. Soul winning is an investment into your eternal account.
